The Blackstone Planning Commission shall conduct a Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m., May 4, 2020 in the Blackstone Town Council Chambers, 100 W. Elm Street.  The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider a request from Megan Little for a Conditional Use permit.  The request, if approved will permit the operation of a Boarding House with conditions in the R-1, Residential District.  The Conditional Use permit request specifically applies to property known as Nottoway County Tax Map number 50A32-1-G1-5 and is also known as 513 S. Main Street.  The Planning Commission may act on this request following the Public Hearing.  Any individual desiring to address the Commission should attend the Public Hearing at the above stated date and time.  Additional information or questions should be directed to the Blackstone Town Manager’s office at philipv@townofblackstoneva.com or (434) 292-7251.  It is the intention of the Town of Blackstone to comply with the ADA.  Persons requiring physical or sensory accommodations should contact the Town Manager’s office no later than 5:00 p.m., April 30, 2020.

BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

 

The Town of Blackstone Board of Zoning Appeals shall hold a Public Hearing on June 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Blackstone Town Council Chambers, 100 W. Elm Street, Blackstone, Virginia.  The applicant, Patriot Square, LLC requests a variance to Section 13-1.2 of the Blackstone Zoning Ordinance.  The request, if granted, would permit 1.5 off street parking spaces per dwelling unit rather than the 2.0 spaces currently required.  The variance request specifically applies to property known as Nottoway County Tax Map Numbers 50A28-2-J1-2, 3 and 5.  This property is located on Epes Street and is currently zoned R-3, Residential.  The Board of Zoning Appeals may adopt this request following this public hearing.  Any individual desiring to address the board should attend the public hearing at the above stated date and time.  Additional information or requests for information should be directed to the Blackstone Town Manager at philipv@townofblackstoneva.com or (434) 292-7251.  It is the intention of the Town to comply with the ADA.  Persons requiring physical or sensory accommodations should contact the Town Manager’s office no later than 5:00 p.m., May 28, 2020
